Although this blog is viewed from a variety of people all over the globe, today I wanted to post a brief article about an important local event that is happening two days from now, on Friday February 28th.
The Oregon Ki Society (more info) is going to give a live Aikido demonstration from 6pm-7pm (Update: the actual demos will be around 6:10pm and 6:40pm, ten minutes each) at Tigard High School for the 20th Annual Japan Night, presented by the Japanese National Honor Society. There will be other free activities as well (tea ceremony, kimono photo booth, silent auction, etc.), as well a musical Koto performance.
I am helping to organize this event, and while I will be attending, I’m not sure if I will be actually on the stage or not (I may do it for part of the time).
Regardless, if you live in Tigard or nearby (Portland is pretty close), I think this would be a great opportunity to see and hear about what we do at Oregon Ki Society.
