Juza Unno SF story published on history website

By | September 12, 2019

I’m very happy to report that my English translation of the story “Mysterious Spacial Rift” from classic SF writer Juza Unno (海野十三) was recently published on Historyradio.org, a cool site that has a radio station and blog covering a variety of historically relevant writers.

You can read the full text of “Mysterious Spacial Rift” here.

I originally published this story in my Science: Hopes & Fears [Volume 1] (my first book) and I’m truly glad to see this kind of interest in it. The story is mostly the same as the one in the book, except for a handful of translation notes and formatting changes.

For more information about Juza Unno please see this post. Also, if you like dystopian stories (like the classic Nineteen Eighty-Four) check out this article that talks about Volume 2 of Science: Hopes & Fears, a dystopian SF novella titled “Eighteen O’ Clock Music Bath”.

I’m hoping to eventually translate more of Juza Unno’s diverse set of works. If you have any suggestions please let me know in the comments.
